Las Rojas Red Angus LiveOnlineā„¢2018 October 4th, 2018 @ 7:30pm

Lot 1 – Rojas Golondrina 8119

CALVED: 2/21/18 REGISTRATION NUMBER: 3935709
Lot 1
Sire: TMAS PZC Firestorm 1800 by Sakic Dam: Six Mile Lakota 112Y (Game Plan 816 x 16W)
8119 is one of two special daughters of 112Y that will sell in this offering. Her sister, 8106 sells as Lot 2. This heifer is a full sister to many champions and high sellers, including the 2018 Champion Red Angus Heifer in the Junior Show at Fort Worth and the Reserve Champion Female in the Open Show in Denver in 2017. 112Y is still the leading donor dam at Las Rojas, she has generated thousands in progeny sales and is no doubt one of the most important donor dams in the breed. 112Y herself, was Reserve Grand Female at the 2013 National Western. In addition to 112Y's success, a sister, Rojas Lakota 7109, was named the Champion Heifer in the 2018 Fort Worth Open Show and Fifth Overall at the 2018 National Jr Show in Kansas. The daughters of 112Y are proving themselves as great producers. A 112Y daughter, owned by the Tweedy family, produced a Reserve Calf Division at the 2018 National Jr Show. This cow family is as potent as any in the breed when it comes to quality and power. I can't say enough good things about 8119. She has all the look and style of this cow family. She is very sound and big middled and has a good hoof. She will be hairy and easy to feed. She has the Angus "big belly" gene! She's the big hipped, great hind leg heifer that has a lot of look and style. Most importantly, this female offers a great deal of value as a donor dam. Females like this are the ones that are hard to part with. Las Rojas will get harder and harder to deal with on these daughters of 112, as she gets older. We have not kept many 112 daughters and there are eight embryos in the tank on her. The full brother to these two sisters is Rojas RIOJA 6052. He has already generated two heifer calves, averaging $17,500. Another full brother to Rioja will be featured in our showstring this winter. If you want to buy the combination donor and show prospect, this heifer is as much as we can offer. There's a lot of value and quality in this one! You will hear about her again.

Lot 2 – Rojas Karat 112Y 8106

CALVED: 1/25/18 REGISTRATION NUMBER: 3935707
Lot 2
Sire: TMAS PZC Firestorm 1800 by Sakic Dam: Six Mile Lakota 112Y (Game Plan 816 x 16W)
8106 is a full sister to Lot 1, the 2018 Fort Worth Champion Female and the 2017 National Western Reserve Champion Female. She is also a full sister to Rojas Rioja. This big middled, stout heifer could lead off many sale offerings of Red Angus show heifer prospects. 8106 is huge ribbed just like her sister, pretty fronted and correct. She is donor quality and will be a force to be reckoned with on the national show scene. In addition, she is a valuable breeding piece for any major herd. If we had to criticize 8106, she could be a little darker colored. She is lighter yellow with some light points to her underline, but dont let that bother you too much. She can have a dark red calf just as easy as the next one. This is a special heifer and another one that we hate to part with, being a daughter of 112Y. She will be an important future cornerstone to any program and powerful donor dam. Study the track record of this cow family. These are sure fire genetics.

Lot 3 – Rojas Duchess 8321

CALVED: 3/16/18 REGISTRATION NUMBER: 3935729
Lot 3
Sire: Rojas Rioja 6052 by Firestorm Dam: Red CC Crimson 28B (SIXM Sure Shot x Redman)
8321 is out of a donor dam that originated from the Sebastian Stewart family herd in Canada. This was the same herd that produced the grandam of 112Y and many other great cattle that are still seen in several successful Canadian pedigres including many good cattle in the famed Six Mile program. 28B, is sired by Six Mile Sure Shot a son of Winchester. Sure Shot and Winchester were noted cattle in the Six Mile program that we admired a lot. 28B is a big hipped, long fronted power cow that has some extra frame. Her mating to Rioja was a home run to say the least. These are stout, good fronted heifer calves that have a ton of look and style. If you are looking for a show heifer prospect, just close your eyes and pick one of these sisters. You will not go wrong. 8321 has a great look and lots of balance from the side. She is really hairy and pretty fronted. She's very complete and is one of the best show heifer prospects that we have ever offered. This heifer has been a standout since day one and admired by many. We are really excited about the Rioja calves. He is as consistent as anything that we have ever used. They have style, power and plenty of performance and frame. There were only a handful of calves born this year and they will easily be the high averaging sire group at Las Rojas. It's easy to fall in love with 8321, she is a standout. She's a super show heifer prospect with a potent, straight Canadian pedigree on the bottom side.

Lot 4 – Rojas 7MC Duchess 8401

CALVED: 3/4/18 REGISTRATION NUMBER: 3935755
Lot 4
Sire: Rojas Rioja 6052 by Firestorm Dam: Red CC Crimson 28B (SIXM Sure Shot x Redman)
8401 is a cool made, dark cherry red heifer that is going to be super hairy. She is great bodied and really correct. She will be a leading show heifer in this group and one of the best to sell anywhwere in the country this fall. This heifer is big time, just like her sister. She's a national contender on any level. Many early visitors don't need much time to find 8401. Her color and her hair alone make her easily stand out! She is really correct, sound footed and complete. Her dam, 28B, originated from the Stewart herd in Canada. This was the same herd that produced the dam of Six Mile Lakota 16W and many other great cattle. 28B, is sired by Six Mile Sure Shot a son of Winchester.

Lot 6 – Rojas Ellie 112Y 8301

CALVED: 1/22/18 REGISTRATION NUMBER: 3935725
Lot 6
Sire: Lazy MC Bennelli by Venom Dam: Six Mile Lakota 112Y (Game Plan 816 x 16W)
We flushed 112Y to Lazy MC Bennelli and every heifer was stout bodied, and good looking. 8301 is a bigger framed, dark red daughter of Bennelli. This heifer will make a nice show heifer and really powerful bred. She has a little extra frame as compared to her sister, 8305. She is probably the darkest heifer in the set. If you would like to add a 112Y daughter to your program, this heifer will offer a lot of opportunity. She is super deep bodied, sound and has a big stout, black hoof. She has cow written all over her and is one of the real powerhouse females out of 112Y that we have sold. Both of these Bennelli sisters are big ribbed and super maternal, both are dark red.

Lot 7 – Rojas Ellie 112Y 8305

CALVED: 2/16/18 REGISTRATION NUMBER: 3935705
Lot 7
Sire: Lazy MC Bennelli by Venom Dam: Six Mile Lakota 112Y (Game Plan 816 x 16W)
8305 is moderate framed and continues to really come on every day. This is a major donor dam candidate. Her body and capacity remind me of her mother at this age. She will have a nice show career. She is super hairy and dark red. She has a little set to her hind leg but she moves like a cat. Sometimes a little set to the hind leg on a 112Y daughter can be a good thing. This is one to really watch and another daughter of 112 that I regret letting go of. This one will raise something major one day. You don't find rib and body like this heifer has. The Bennelli pedigree contains many cattle that I have admired in Canada, they 8305 is probably one of the most important females in the group, considering what she could contribute to any major herd.

Lot 8 – Rojas Ima Little Special 8128

CALVED: 4/7/18 REGISTRATION NUMBER: 3935715
Lot 8
Sire: TMAS PZC Firestorm 1800 by Sakic Dam: RED BAR-E-L Kassie 117X by Wheel Alliance 22U
8128 will lead off this set of Firestorm daughters out of the Bar E-L Kassie 117X that is a leading donor in the Thomas and Maple Lane programs. Kassie 117X was the dam of the 2017 National Western Champion Female for Blair.Ag. 117X was imported to the US by Las Rojas in 2016. Watch for her daughters next year in the Thomas and Maple Lane sales. Im not sure that I ever believed in a sleeper, but if theres one in this group it is 8128. This heifer is the youngest in the set. She is as pretty outlined as any of them, study her pattern and correctness. This is the kind of heifer calf, that with some maturity will whip them all in the end. She is as balanced as they come. She got a late start and didnt have as much creep or milk and she took an early weaning hard during the hottest time of the summer. This female is donor quality and just the type and kind I like. She is good colored and is already really good haired.

CALVED: 3/5/18 REGISTRATION NUMBER: 3935711
Lot 9
Sire: TMAS PZC Firestorm 1800 by Sakic Dam: RED BAR-E-L Kassie 117X by Wheel Alliance 22U
8308 is a dark red heifer that has really come on, in the last month. She is hard to fault and very complete. She is pretty fronted, big bodied and perfect structured. This heifer will have a great show career and make a promising donor dam. She is one of the biggest boned and heaviest structured heifers in the group! Stop and look closer at this heifer, I think she has major potential. Super stout and really correct. 8308 is some of the first embryo production of 117X in the Las Rojas herd. 117X was not flushed until after her daughter was a Denver champion. This pedigree is stout in good Canadian genetics and offers a lot in terms of cow and donor value. We really like this heifer calf.

Lot 11 – Rojas Ima Kassie Too 8317

CALVED: 3/17/18 REGISTRATION NUMBER: 3935727
Lot 11
Sire: TMAS PZC Firestorm 1800 by Sakic Dam: RED BAR-E-L Kassie 117X by Wheel Alliance 22U
8317 is a heifer that needs some more time as we are writing these footnotes. 8317 has all the parts, she is long fronted, square hipped and has a pretty hind leg. Its not easy to pick a hole in this one, she just looks like she could use another month to stouten up in her middle. If she comes on and fills out she has a good deal of potential. She can really give you a look, she's not plain and could prove to be a good competitor. A couple of these heifers will really change by sale time and this will be one of them. The heat has been really hard on us this summer. 8317 will make a special addition to any progressive herd.
