The Exchange Swine Event 2018 June 7th, 2018 @ 7:00pm

Lot 1 – Houston Queen

Lot 1
Sire: Non-Typical Dam: Shoot to Thrill
Selling Full Interest. Bred to Stressed Out 70-1
The name Mauck is synonymous with success and in the Berkshire business, they havent just been successful, theyve dominated. This breeding program has produced Champion barrows and gilts at every level and yet for as much as theyve won, the potency of their genetics across the entire Berkshire gene pool has kept them at the forefront of the breed. that has kept them in the lead. There were certainly many females within the Mauck herd that were worthy of a spot in the Exchange but when they agreed to sell her, the decision to select 7-5 was easy. As a show gilt, this young sow found her way to the big backdrop not once, but twice in 2016 when she was named the Champion Berk Gilt at Fort Worth and again the Champion Berk Supreme Overall Gilt at Houston. Shes a Non-Typical daughter and bred to what many view as the most unique Berkshire breeding piece thats been put together at Maucks. Stressed Out 70-1 is a known stress carrier but even so, hes projected to be the next barrow-making super star to represent the Mauck herdmark. Several of the upstart progams in the Berkshire breed have started with an elite female from the Mauck program and once again, theyre gracious enough to provide another opportunity for someone to do it again!

Lot 2 – Darlin of San Antonio

Lot 2
Sire: Shotgun Wedding Dam: Cadillac
Selling Full Interest. Bred to Family Jewels
The Berkshire program at MB Genetics / Mock Livestock has been an exciting venture to say the least. It started in 2015 with the purchase of 5-6 from Russell Kneese. That season, 5-6 build quite a show career being named Champion Berkshire Gilt at San Antonio, Supreme Champion Breeding Gilt at the Hill Country District Show and Reserve Grand Champion in the Gillespie County Market Show. Since that time, 5-6 has simply wrote the book for becoming a true generator! In her tenure at MB / ML, 5-6 has generated well over 50,000 in retail offspring, producing several Texas county show champions, premium sale barrows at Texas majors and today she can be identified as the dam of many. 5-6 produced the Varner's winning gilt in both the Open and Junior Show at 2016 World Pork Expo, the In Style boar that sold to Apex Sires , the memorial gilts that sold for 5,000 at Breeders Best and the 8,500 Power Female deal. Just as impressive, you can add to that list she mothered the 2017 San Antonio Champion Berkshire Gilt. Additionally, to prove the strength in her blood 5-6 is the grand-dam of MB Blackish who just sired the 2018 Champion Berkshire Barrow at Houston, MB's 9,000 Perfect Timing Gilt and the 3rd Overall Berkshire Gilt 2018 OYE. She sells bred to Family Jewels at MB Genetics (Drinking Class x Pearl Necklace littermate sister). Family Jewels is the result of Mauck's Lot 1 bred female in December 2017. Littermate barrows were Reserve Purebred / 5th Overall Barrow at the 2017 Iowa State Fair and Champion Berkshire 2017 at the Kansas Jr. Livestock Show. The first Family Jewels pigs have been easy to sell and are winning in the early jackpots. We expect big things from this litter and are proud to offer such an opportunity to the buying public.

Lot 3 – Monopolys Proven Sister

Lot 3
Sire: Non-Typical Dam: Bar None
Selling Full Interest. Bred to Slim Jim
Few sows have impacted a breed quite like 27-1 has done for the Berkshire breed. In her illustrious career she has generated impactful daughters, influential sons and show-winning gilts and barrows. Her list of gilts that have found the backdrop is impressive but theres one that has always stood out as the best: 27-11. She was Champion Berk Reserve Supreme Overall at the 2016 San Antonio Stock Show and is even more famously known around here as Monopolys sister. Within the Breed, Monopoly certainly doesnt need an introduction and relative to his mother and his maternal sibs, there is no doubt he is unquestionably the best generating son. In her short career as a sow, 27-11 produced Cold Feet, the Pearl Necklace son that sold in the 17 Built the Brand sale to Premium Blend Genetics and an elite keeper gilt that just took her turn in the crate. Her Radical-sired February litter was deep and easy to sell this spring and were extremely excited about this mating to Slim Jim. We used Slim Jim (Keep Talkin x Gary Coleman :: Purchased from Gleasons at 17 STC) on a very high percentage of our Berkshire sows for summer litters and were confident this litter has the chance for more success in the showring and a sizeable return on investment!

Lot 4 – Mother of the Denver Champion

Lot 4
Sire: U-Turn Dam: Si
Selling Full Interest. Bred to Open Fire
Shes a daughter of our foundation Schinke sow, that might be enough said right there! The Schminke sow was the 2014 foundation female at the Team Purebred Summer National. Her pedigree reads, Si x On Command x Snookie those who follow the Chester breed should be familiar with Snookie and her littermates. Every single Chester in our program goes back to our foundation Schminke sow, and 14-11 is out of her very first litter. Sired by U-Turn, 14-11 has been absolutely incredible for us. In her first litter, she raised the Champion Chester Barrow at the 2017 National Western and Overturn at Top Cut Genetics. In her second litter, she raised the high-points Chester barrow in Indiana and the heavyweight class winner at WPX. For litter three, she raised the Reserve Chester Gilt and 3rd Overall at the 2018 Mid-South Regional in Mississippi, as well as the 6th Overall and high-selling Chester gilt at OYE 2018.

Lot 5 – Old School

Lot 5
Sire: Liverwire Dam: Powerfluid
Selling Full Interest. Bred to Rum Runner
When we set out to pick the perfect female to represent Armstrong Genetics for the Exchange we quickly landed on the proven 16-8 Livewire sow. She offers some old school genetics that are still producing the right kind today. The 16-8 sow allows a for a lot of flexibility and genetic diversity when it comes to mating for the future, because there's no current day sires in her pedigree. It's always been a staple to secure productive females in the Armstrong herd, therefore the predictability that 16-8 offers can be found in her mother and been passed through to her daughters. The 16-8 sow and her brother that basically can be viewed as the breed standard boar Uno share the same mother. Both individuals have offered some of the most influential lines in the Chester breed. Uno himself sired champions all over the nation including the Grand Gilt overall at San Antonio in 2013. This 16-8 sow was the mother of Backfire, which sired the grandma to the Grand Gilt Overall at San Antonio this year 2018. Lots and lots of genetic consistency in this bloodline. With several young sows in our herd today doing a great job we feel blessed to share 16-8 as a powerful genetic package to the industry. The 16-8 sow has had tons of barrows and gilts be competitive at every level, including the Reserve Chester barrow at 2015 Houston Show. She continues to generate dollars every year and pays for her place in the sow pens, last fall litter contributed over 11,000 back to the farm. She's still youthful, very productive in the crate and we feel she has life left in the tank. Side note: longer toe on one foot only due to an injury.

Lot 6 – Raised Back-to-Back OYE Banners

Lot 6
Sire: Boncrusher Dam: Ein
Selling Full Interest. Selling Open Ready to Breed.
Shes referred to as Marsh-mella in the big city of Marshall, OK., but tough enough to be called whatever in the streets. This is the 33-1 Reichart bred female who put Frontline on the Chester show pig map. 33-1 is a direct daughter of Bone Crusher and out of an Ein Sow -- so theres no surprise as to why this genetic super-star is so accomplished. The same pedigrees were utilized by Reichart Genetics to make the Champion Chester Barrow at Indy. 33-1 had a very competitive career in the Oklahoma show circuit, yet it pails to her production stats. In her first litter, 33-1 produced the Champion Chester Gilt at 2016 OYE, plus two powerhouse barrows. If thats not impressive enough, she laid down the next fall and repeated that feat, producing the Champion Chester Gilt at OYE in 2017. How many do that? Need more? Premium Sale Chester Barrows have become the norm for Frontline at OYE and Tulsa.

Lot 7 – The Miss Duroc Daughter

Lot 7
Sire: Mind Games Dam: Fordice by Challenger
Selling Full Interest. Selling Open Ready to Breed.
It's not very often that ONE sow is considered the cornerstone of a breed, but it may be the case with "Miss Duroc," the Challenger sow at Norman's. Her initial praises came from the ring as an elite show gilt, but her track record since is simply unmatched in Duroc history. She is most notable for her sons 'He's the One', 'Class Act', and 'New Direction,' yet her daughters and granddaughters give substance to her resume. Of all her accomplishments, perhaps her defining moment was at the NSR Fall Classic in 2017. Her presence was found in the pedigree of 5/6 class-winning boars, 4/6 class-winning gilts and a total of 60 of the top-four placing Durocs. When trying to identify a 'Miss Duroc" daughter for this sale, there were certainly several options, but Norman's humbly say that this 3 litter, sired by Mind Games, might be her best yet. Here's an unreal opportunity for those looking to invest in a genetic giant, because if it weren't for this event, she'd never be offered for sale. Sidenote - her littermate boar is expected to be showcased as the Judges Consignment at the WPX.

Lot 8-A – Selling Choice of 5-7 or 54-11

Lot 8-A
Sire: Lifetime Dam: 8-7 Milestone
Selling Choice of 8A or 8B. 8A sells bred to Chow.
5-7 - Many people remember the strong set of Jr. Show Durocs that were exhibited at the 2015 WPX raised by Beyers Farms. That crop produced a class winning gilt that ended up 3rd Overall in Div.1, a littermate barrow that was Champion Lightweight and 3rd overall. The 5-7 Gilt went on to have a strong showing all summer across Indiana. Another powerhouse from that litter was the "Big League" boar sold to Shaffer Goldrush. As a sow, 5-7 has been an awesome generator! Her first litter produced the Grand Overall Gilt at the 2016 Illinois State Fair Junior Show, a barrow which grabbed the banner for the Grand Overall Land of Lincoln, the Breed Champion Reserve Grand Overall Gilt at the 2016 NJSA SW Regional, and the Grand Overall Gilt at the Oklahoma State Fair. Her three keeper daughters have proven their worth already. In her second litter she was equally as impressive by producing Fist Fight at Apex Sires and the Champion Barrow at Hale County, TX. 5-7 hit again with her third litter, the Bear Claw sired pigs included the Champion Duroc Barrow at 2018 Fort Worth, the Reserve Duroc at LSU, a Class Winning Barrow at the NJSA SE Regional, and again, three more daughters were moved directly to the sow pens. Her fourth litter was born in January and will begin hitting the show circuit soon. In true in Beyers Farm fashion, two more females have been retained. The 5-7 sow was the first daughter we kept of the 8-7 Milestone sow and she's a sib to the Reserve Grand Overall Purebred Barrow at the 2017 WPX, the 3rd Overall Barrow at NJSS. When Blake asked us to be a part of this sale we knew we had to offer our best, so we're painfully offering choice of this pair of elite proven generators to the highest bidder. Take advantage of an opportunity that may not present itself again for a very long time.

Lot 8-B – Selling Choice of 5-7 or 54-11

Lot 8-B
Sire: Cant Stop Dam: 37-8 Different Deal
Selling Choice of 8A or 8B. 8B Sells bred to Cryin Shame.
54-11 is a littermate to our herd boar Backroad. However, her legacy might be better written as Lesson Plan's Mother! She came from a very deep litter that included Backroad, the Champion Duroc at the 2016 Muskogee Regional, OK, the 5th Overall Duroc Barrow at 2016 OYE, a 2nd place barrow at Houston and another littermate barrow was a sale maker at Houston. As a sow, she has already left her mark on the breed. In her first litter sired by Prison Style 150 (Wintex) she produced:- 45-3 herd boar at Beyers Farms- Reserve Duroc Prospect at 2017 Hamilton County, TX, Reserve Duroc Third Overall at Wagoner County, OK and we retained two gilts. In her 2nd litter sired by Watch Learn (Purple Power Boar Stud), she produced Lesson Plan at Beyers Farms, Champion Duroc Reserve Grand Overall Gilt at the 2017 Illinois State Fair Junior Show and again we retained 2 gilts. Her 3rd litter was a repeat mating to Watch Learn (Purple Power Boar Stud) and this time she produced, Gather Around at Chad Hill Durocs, 7th Overall Second Top Selling Duroc at 2018 OYE, Premium Sale Barrow at 2018 San Antonio and Premium Sale Barrow at 2018 Houston and we retained 1 gilt. Her 4th litter sired by Lesson Plan will show later this summer. 54-11 generating ability is just now entering her prime! She comes from the same sow line as the 5-7 sow offered as our other choice lot and her pedigree reads Can't Stop x Different Deal x Full Shift x Prenup. Genetically similar and similar in look and build as you'd expect. Both of these sows are good built, stout featured red ones, that generate shape, build and look at a high level. Take advantage of the opportunity to tie into the heart of our sow herd with two females that are already proven and ready to put someone else on the map!
