It’s a special year and this is most certainly a special female to lead off our Right by Design event. Serena D74 (affectionately known as Lila) was the first 6-figure daughter from our late, great Serena 74Y and she was a popular champion for Claire Trennepohl-Hoblyn when she won the calf divisions in both Louisville and Denver and was later Reserve Grand Champion of the AJSA National Classic in 2017. Lila has become a storied producer, the most prolific from her amazing dam, with nearly 70 registered progeny and pushing $500,000 in lifetime sales through our sales alone. She has recorded 3 State Fair Champion daughters in 2 years including Gabi Tebo’s dominant winner in Indiana in 2022 plus Rylea Suddreth’s Supreme Champion of the 2022 North Carolina State Fair and Kai Thomsen’s Supreme Champion of the 2022 South Dakota Youth Spotlight. Sons like Counterpoint 086K and Big Phil have been favorites as well plus this cow has registered some of the highest priced frozen genetics we have sold. She has been especially great to us and looks and works as well as ever; she still has a ton to offer any seedstock outfit. We lost her mother this summer after her Hall of Fame career and we feel like this cow is on her way to similar achievements and longevity. It is time for her to be shared. Look for her daughters in the bred heifer division and review her past performance, Lila is Right by Design!
