We raised Mary Jane and sent her to Austin Adams for 1.5 years of cutting training, she came back ready for a job. Mary Jane is one of the most willing, happy to do anything, horses I have been around. Her dam, Maria, has the same attitude. You can do anything on her, she is always on your team and tries her heart out. Maria (MJ’s dam) is a daughter of Woody Be Tuff that was started as a cutter and became a stand out calf horse winning the average and a round of the permit finals in Las Vegas with Zane Kilgus. She also went on to qualify for the National High School Finals in the cutting after that. Mary Jane has started pen roping calves since she came back, she is blank slate in the box. This young mare is starting to come into herself; she is learning to run to cattle and can really stop. I think she will be a stand breakaway or sorting horse and will definitely make a kids horse, we’ve hauled to some rodeos and by the 2nd one my kids were riding her around.
