Totally Metallic “Sonny” is an 8-year-old gelding that is an OWN SON of the great Metallic Cat and out of own daughter of Dual Ray. Sonny is a barn favorite, a talker and a real prankster. He LOVES attention and will follow you around like a puppy dog. Giving the opportunity, Sonny will steal your hat or unlock the feed room door and walk himself in! Sonny is a beautiful strawberry roan (looks like his daddy), stands a stout 14.2 and is approximately 1050 pounds. He was raised and trained by accomplished cutting horse trainer Brett Weimer in California and he is a TRAINED, FINISHED CUTTER. As Sonny was being prepared to compete nationally on the NCHA circuit, COVID shut down the horse industry in CA for years. He won money in the cutting ring in his very limited show career in California. Sonny arrived in Missouri three and a half years ago and became the personal horse of Whiskey Ranch owner, Jim Mueller. He has been used on the ranch to gather cattle, sort, trail ride extensively and recently he has learned to rope. Most recently Sonny has been competing in Open and Youth Classes in ranch trail and ranch cutting and working cow competitions with Josh Rushing and his family. Sonny will stand tied, load, clip and is good for the farrier. Sonny is safe, but has buttons and a lot of movement. If you are in front of a cow and drop your hand, you better hang on because he will be ready to go to work. It will be a sad day to see Sonny go off to his forever home, but with so many young horse in the barn, Sonny deserves to be ridden more often.
